Bart Van Peel – from the Belgian art collective Captain Boomer – talks about how and why he brought a beached whale to the shores of Warsaw’s Vistula river.

"The Whale", a documentary produced by PRZEKRÓJ Foundation about the day when a whale appeared on a sandy beach in Warsaw, has won the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival (SDFF) 2020 Jury Award for best Mini Doc film, Przekrój Magazine has learned from the organizers.

In December 2017, the figure of a several-metres-long whale washed up on the bank of the Vistula River in Warsaw. We talk with the art collective Captain Boomer about this surprising event.
